LOS ANGELES -- Paul Goldschmidt and Miguel Montero homered to help Bronson Arroyo win his third straight start and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-3 Sunday, preventing a three-game sweep. Arroyo (7-4) allowed a run and five hits in five innings. Josh Beckett (4-4) was charged with four runs -- three earned -- and five hits through seven innings with six strikeouts and no walks for the Dodgers. Goldschmidt hit his 15th home run in the first inning and Montero hit his 10th in the ninth inning, a two-run shot off Chris Perez. Some absentmindedness by the Dodgers helped the Diamondbacks during a two-run seventh inning that increased the lead to 4-1. Montero ended up with one-out infield single after second baseman Dee Gordon fielded his routine grounder and had neither first baseman Adrian Gonzalez nor Beckett covered the bag. Aaron Hill followed with a single to left field and continued to second as Matt Kemp tried to throw out Montero at third. Gordon then charged Martin Prados slow grounder with the infield playing in -- and ran past the ball as it skidded into short-right-centre. Both runners scored and Prado was credited with one RBI. A fielding error by Arizona shortstop Didi Gregorius on Jamie Romaks leadoff grounder in the seventh gave the Dodgers some life. Lefty Oliver Perez, who came in with a scoreless streak of 11 innings over his previous 13 appearances, walked No.8 hitter Drew Butera before pinch-hitter Justin Turner doubled over the head of left fielder Cody Ross. Butera was hoping to score behind Romak, then slammed on the breaks after he was held up by coach Lorenzo Bundy. But Gregorius took the relay from Ross and threw to Prado for the tag on Butera before he could scramble back to the bag. Perez then hit Gordon with an 0-2 pitch, but the D-backs escaped the inning still clinging to a 4-2 lead as Evan Marshall struck out Hanley Ramirez and retired Yasiel Puig on a tapper back to the mound. Brad Ziegler escaped the Dodgers eighth unscathed after retiring Romak on a double-play grounder with runners at the corners. The Dodgers tied it in the second when Gonzalez drew a leadoff walk and scored on Romaks groundout. The Diamondbacks regained the lead in the fifth when David Peralta doubled with two out, stole third and sprinted home on Becketts first wild pitch of the season. Ramirez added an RBI double in the ninth for Los Angeles. NOTES: Ziegler has induced 85 double-play grounders since the start of the 2008 season, the most among relievers. ... For the second time in two games, Montero threw out Puig trying to steal second base in the first inning with Gonzalez at bat. Puig has been caught seven times on 14 steal attempts. Montero entered this series having thrown out only six of 39 runners. ... Sixteen of Goldschmidts 79 big league homers have come in the first inning, more than hes hit in any other frame. Goldschmidt has 13 homers, 44 RBIs and a .321 average against Dodgers pitching. The home run and RBI totals are his best against any club. ... The Dodgers have only six home runs in 417 at-bats and 482 total plate appearances over their last 13 games. Gonzalez has gone 23 games without one and Puig is in a 16-game home run drought. Black Friday Jerseys .28 mph. Logano will start on the front row next to Penske Ford teammate Brad Keselowski, who came in second Friday at 193.099. The Penske drivers swept the top two spots for the second straight race, reversing their qualifying finish in Phoenix a week ago. Cheap Custom Jerseys . Cruz set the tone with a two-run homer in the first inning, and Baltimore scored eight times in the eighth to pull away for a 12-3 victory in Game 1. The major league leader with 40 homers during the regular season, Cruz added an RBI single to his early blast off Max Scherzer. https://www.fakejerseyswholesale.com/. Miralem Pjanic dribbled through the defence to score an extraordinary goal in the 43rd minute at the Stadio Olimpico and Gervinho added another from a rebound in the 65th for Romas ninth straight victory — ending Milans five-match winning streak. Cheap Jerseys . Dallas also Monday recalled defenceman Aaron Rome from his conditioning assignment with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League and assigned goaltender Jack Campbell to the AHL squad. Wholesale Jerseys . This should be celebrated because it will not always be this way. With the amount of money given to players by their clubs these days, it is a wonder that so many of those teams allow the sport to continue to take away many of their assets so they can play for a different team in the middle of their season.Denny Morrison is having the Olympics of a lifetime. Three days after taking silver in the mens 1,000-metre long track speed skating event at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Morrison has added a bronze to his cabinet, this time in the 1,500 metres on Saturday. "Its been a long road with a lot of persistence and its finally paid off," an elated Morrison told CBC Sports after the race. Morrison, skating 15th of 20 pairs, capitalized on a strong opening lap to lay down a time of one minute, 45.22 seconds, and was the leader until Polands Zbigniew Brodka topped it for gold in 1:45.00. "What Ive found [in 1,500-metre races] is that I cant go out slow and conservative and try to beat the other guys who finish strong, I have to go out my way – go out fast, and just hang on," Morrison said. "And I was able to hang on just enough." There was more drama to come in the final pairing. Dutch skater Koen Verweij finished in a dead heat with Brodka, crossing the line in 1:45.00 as well. When the times were adjusted, Brodka ended up with the gold medal, a mere three thousandths of a second ahead. But it also meant that Morrison had his medal, after an agonizing wait to see if any of the 10 skaters after him could take his place on the podium. "It is [excruciating], you already want to puke," he said. "Youre already so tired and hurting, but man does it feel good to win [a medal]." Mathieu Giroux of Pointe-aux-Trembles, Que., finished in 19th in 1:47.65. Lukas Makowsky of Regina placed 28th in a time of 11:48.dddddddddddd.51. Teenager Vincent de Haitre of Cumberland, Ont., was 33rd in 1:49.42. Morrisons bronze puts Canadas medal count at 12, with four gold, five silver, and three bronze. Morrison, Giroux and Makowsky are expected to compete in the team pursuit event next week, as they attempt to defend their gold medal from the Vancouver Olympics. Morrisons efforts have been one of the highlights of the Olympics so far for Canada. Not even scheduled to compete in the 1,000-metres after falling in the event at the Canadian trials, Morrison was given a spot in the race thanks to teammate Gilmore Junio, who gave up his. The Fort St. John, B.C., native fully took advantage of the opportunity, taking silver in the 1,000 metres behind Stefan Groothuis of the Netherlands. Defending Olympic champion Mark Tuitert of the Netherlands finished fifth. American Shani Davis continued his disappointing 2014 Olympic campaign with an 11th-place finish. Canada now has two medals in long track, both from Morrison. The Dutch team has dominated the proceedings at Adler Arena, taking four gold and 13 medals so far in only seven races, matching the record set by East Germany in the 1988 Games in Calgary. With five long track events still remaining, the Netherlands will likely surpass that mark in the coming days. To compare, the other nations have eight long track medals combined. Its a big turnaround for the Dutch team from their Vancouver effort in long track, where it finished well below expectations with three gold and only seven medals total. ' ' '
