ESPN cited sources Sunday as saying Stanton has partially torn ACL and MCL ligaments. Stanton was hurt during Thursdays game against St. Louis. Reports on Friday said Stanton had a pair of sprained knee ligaments and the team had considered him day-to-day. Partially torn ligaments would likely keep Stanton sidelined for about 3-to-4 weeks. If the 11-3 Cardinals can earn a first-round bye in the playoffs, they would not play a postseason game until the weekend of Jan. 10-11, which would be four weeks away.
